About Our Church

Hopewell Baptist Church is a small, close-knit congregation just outside Owensboro, Kentucky. We’re not fancy or flashy—just a group of people who love the Lord, care for one another, and want to grow in our faith together. Our focus is on Scripture, prayer, and genuine community. We believe church should feel like family and faith should make a difference in everyday life.

What kind of church is Hopewell?

We directed by Scripture and driven by the mission of making disciples of Jesus.

We believe that the heart of the Christian life is found in Jesus’ greatest commandments and His Great Commission—to love God completely, love others genuinely, and make disciples faithfully. Our desire is to live out that calling together as a church family, growing in God’s Word and sharing His truth and grace with the world around us.

Mission & Vision

At Hopewell, we believe following Jesus means learning to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind—and loving our neighbors as ourselves. Everything we do flows from that foundation. We gather each week to worship, study Scripture, and grow together in faith, not because we have it all figured out, but because we know God is faithful to shape us through His Word and His Spirit.

Our vision is to see that love overflow into everyday life. We want to be a church where disciples make disciples—where families are strengthened, neighbors are served, and the gospel reaches beyond our walls into the community around us. Whether it’s through a kind word, a helping hand, or a faithful witness, our goal is to reflect the heart of Christ in all we do.

Our Beliefs & Values

We believe there is one true and living God who reveals Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative Word, completely true and sufficient for faith and life. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone—who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him.

At Hopewell, we value what lasts. We hold to God’s Word as our foundation, worship Him with sincerity, and care for one another like family. We believe faith grows best through prayer, discipleship, and everyday obedience, not programs or polish. Our aim is simple—to love God, love people, and serve our community in the name of Jesus.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible Word—completely true and sufficient for all we believe and practice. It is the final authority for faith and life.

God

We believe in one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, sovereign, and worthy of all worship.

Humanity

We believe every person is created in God’s image, yet separated from Him by sin. Only through God’s grace can we be restored to a right relationship with Him.

Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. He lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and offers eternal life to all who trust in Him.

The Church

We believe the local church is a body of baptized believers who join together to worship God, grow in His Word, serve one another, and share the gospel with the world.

Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

We believe baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper are symbolic acts of obedience, reminding us of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection and our unity in Him.

The Christian Life

We believe followers of Jesus are called to live holy, Spirit-led lives—loving God, loving others, and demonstrating their faith through word and deed.

The Family

We believe God established the family as the foundational institution of human society—joining one man and one woman in marriage and calling parents to raise their children in the love and truth of Christ.

The Kingdom and Mission

We believe Jesus is Lord over all creation and that His Kingdom is advancing through the preaching of the gospel. The church’s mission is to make disciples of all nations until He returns.

Last Things

We believe Jesus will return personally and gloriously to judge the world and make all things new. Those who belong to Him will live forever in His presence.

Who We Are

Our Team & Leadership

Hopewell is a small church with a big heart. Pastor Ryan serves as our only staff member, but ministry here is a shared effort. Many faithful members give their time and talents to lead in worship, teach, care for others, and keep things running smoothly week after week. Our church thrives not because of one person, but because of the many who serve together for the glory of God.

Our Pastor : Ryan Seaman

Our Pastor : Ryan Seaman

Pastor

Ryan Seaman serves as pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church. He has a heart for helping people understand God’s Word and apply it to real life. His preaching is rooted in Scripture and aims to connect biblical truth with everyday faith. Ryan believes the church is at its best when it’s simple, sincere, and focused on loving God and loving people.

Outside of ministry, Ryan works in construction management and enjoys the satisfaction of building things that last. He’s a husband to Jessica and dad to three kids who keep life full and fun. When he’s not at the job site or the church, you’ll probably find him with his family, working on a project, or dreaming up new ideas with a cup of coffee in hand.
